Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress singer and dancer. Her first roles on Broadway include the Musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The role she played as Essie Carmahiel in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed directors and actors across theatre and on television. she is continuing her award-winning work with several upcoming projects. Ashford in the near future will play opposite Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres the 22nd of November. Ashford is engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust with Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. It's also available on Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will return to Broadway in March 2023, where he will star alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the musical. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the nation's crisis, which swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment hearings in over 100 years. Her two seasons on CBS show B Positive was her first significant part. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Also, she has performed in Broadway on Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first role in the role of Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Born and raised in Denver Ashford is now dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York.
